Essential Beliefs
HERE IS WHAT WE BELIEVE ABOUT…
GOD – We believe in the only true God (Deuteronomy 6:4; John 17:3) who exists in three Persons—The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit.
JESUS – We believe that Jesus Christ is God (John 1:1; Titus 2:13). We believe that He is the eternal Son of God who left heaven to become a man to save sinners from the penalty of sin (Philippians 2:4-11; John 3:15-16). We believe that He DIED for sin, He was BURIED, and that He ROSE AGAIN (1 Corinthians 15:3-4). We believe that He is seated at the right hand of God and is ministering as the Head of the Church today.
HOLY SPIRIT – We believe that the Holy Spirit is God (Acts 5:3-4). We believe that He is working today in the Church in order to glorify Jesus (John 16:14). We believe that He is working in the lives of unbelievers to draw them to Christ (John 16:7-11) and believers to mature them in Christ and use them for Christ’s glory (Galatians 5:22-23; Ephesians 5:18).
THE BIBLE – We believe that the Bible is inspired by God and inerrant (free from error in the original autographs) (Psalm 119:160; John 17:17; 2 Timothy 3:16). We believe that the Bible is God’s revelation to mankind revealing His person, His plans, His purposes, and His promises. Therefore, we believe it is essential to study the Bible as our authority for knowing Him and obeying Him.
SIN – We believe that man has sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God (Romans 3:23). We believe that men sin because they are sinners from birth (Psalm 51:5). We believe that the consequences of sin are spiritual death and eternal separation from God in Hell (Ephesians 2:1-3; Revelation 20:11-15). However, we also believe that the remedy for the consequences of sin is Jesus’ death upon the Cross for the forgiveness of sin (John 3:16).
SALVATION – We believe that Jesus died on the cross as a sacrifice for our sins (1 Corinthians 15:3). We believe that His substitutionary death on the cross for our sins enables those who trust in Him as Savior from sin to be forgiven completely (Romans 3:21-26; 8:1). We believe that once a person is saved, they are saved forever (John 6:39-40; 10:28-29; Romans 8:38-39; 1 Corinthians 12:13; Ephesians 2:8-9; 4:30; Jude 24).
